A swindle that could cost the European Union a million euros has been discovered by the Guardia di Finanza, i.e. the Customs Guards Corps, in the Ragusa area. The investigators are having a close look at a farm at Scicli. The suspects include the farm’s legal representative. It is alleged that false declarations were used to enable the accused to obtain EU contributions they had no right to. An order has been issued to confiscate the million euros they had illegally stashed away.
