You can prevent cancer eating well. This news was already well-known, but which are the meals that reinforce our body?

 

Recently the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera published a list with the most useful food. Strawberries, red grapes, coffee, berries, cherries, raspberries, ginger, red onions and cherry tomatoes are the best anti-oxidants. Amongst the anticancerogenic we have tea, dark chocolate, peaches, plums, but also broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage.

particular tomatoes and kiwis are the best choice against cancer in males. Tofu, soy milk, say beans and linen seeds are more suitable for women. Some fruit like oranges and in general citrus fruit help the immune system.

 

The Italian Association for the Research on Cancer (Airc) is going to start a study to evaluate if good nutrition and sport can reduce the risk of breast cancer. So eating well means living well and in Sicily, where there is a great variety of food, it could be even easier to follow this advice.

 

Weight control and good nutrition – explained Concetta Migliore, who is the director of a rehabilitation service of the Italian association against cancer – are the key elements to prevent cancer and for rehabilitation. Sicily offers a great amount of products which are very useful to fight cancer. For example pasta with broccoli, but also olive oil, almonds and fish, which can replace meat. Even whole wheat can still be found in Sicily – continued the doctor – for example the black bread from Castelvetrano or the whole wheat bread from Monreale”.

 

So eating well – and in this case the key work is organic agriculture – means being well. The choice is yours.
