“Everything must be done to protect and increase occupation, guaranteeing a good job for families to survive”. This is what Pope Benedict XVI said, referring to some “difficult situations in Italy”, like the Fiat of Termini Imerese and the Alcoa of Portovesme.

The economic crisis is causing the loss of many job positions – said the Pope at the end of the Angelus – and this situation requires a great sense of responsibility from everyone, businessmen, workers and governors”. “I’m thinking about some difficult situations in Italy – he continued – for example Termini Imerese and Portovesme”. “So I agree with the Italian Episcopal Conference’s appeal – added Benedict XVI – who encouraged occupation and to guarantee good job positions for families to survive”. Today in St. Peter’s square there were also some workers from Alcoa of Portovesme with a large banner.
