Its name is iMussolini and it is the controversial application for iPhones which recently has become very popular. The application – which is already ranked third in Italy amongst the most sold products, just in two days – allows you to look at more than 100 speeches made by Mussolini, both in audio and video format. The service costs only 79 cents.
On the web there are already those for and against this initiative. To defend himself the author said: “This application doesn’t celebrate fascism” but invites users “not to make tactless comments on fascism”.
Despite warnings, many reviews of this application – even if many of them are impartial and only historical – celebrate fascism, like “Five stars for our beloved Duce” or “Duce always with you”, and there are also those who think that this application is a real “must” for fascism supporters. Apple, which is usually very careful towards these types of controversies about its applications, still hasn’t taken a stand.
