The call is ancestral and it has roots in Black Africa for the new spring-summer collection of Miss Bikini Luxe. On the catwalks of Milan the end of September, accompanied by bongo music and tribal drums, “100 items for 100 solutions” walked the runway. This is the slogan of the fashion hue that celebrated a total look created for the 2010 spring-summer season: from bikinis to urban outfits, from head to toe, including bags. The woman of Alessandra and Francesca Piacentini, even she stays in the city during the summer, does not renounce exotic holidays.

The two fashion designers interpreted the summer trends looking for inspiration in the rain forest: its wild nature was the leitmotiv that lead to the creation of materials with animalier prints and with colours inspired by the African continent. In the collection called “tribal urban chic” there are bikinis, saragons, kaftans, kimonos and dresses. So an outfit for any occasion and plays on mix, as the designers explained: “Eclectic beachwear with the right accessories becomes suitable also for the evening when on top of costumes you can wear kaftans and kimonos”. The materials and the techniques used for these creations? Devorè velvets, embossed silks and stretch fibres with one-colour theme with honeycomb design. But there are also golden and silver microfibers with a snake effect. The prints remind us of the 1970s with geometrical, flower and lined decorations: a real “melting pot of pop cultures”. The style of the native Americans also returns, but updated to the bit age. A style that Miss Bikini Luxe calls “Technological Apache” and mixes tribal and technological styles. Women who love feathers will appreciate prints that mix animalier styles with marbled feathers, for a look that emphasises the umbilical cord with nature.
